Lunar Eclipse

This is how I know the universe has delivered me souls that are my kind of people. Several days ago, I received a text from a hiker buddy of mine, asking if I wanted to join him for a 4:00am viewing of this lunar eclipse.

he knew I was the only one crazy enough to say yes. So, after a 3:00am wake up, and a couple hours watching this beautiful phenomenon, I am feeling much better- much lighter.

my favorite part of the viewing was when I thought of walking to the nearby cornfield on the farm up the road.

5:00am: A brisk November morning, standing in a cornfield and looking up at the starlit sky. The moon is dressed in an amber cloak as the meadow grass sways in the wind. It is quiet. Except for the cows that are awake and making their presence known to the world. Meteors and satellites soar overhead on what can only be described as a soul-reset experience. Nature is pretty badass.
